Spread the love

Being a girl, leading the independent life with utmost freedom and love   in the society of a developing country is not a cry in a wilderness. Girls have to face a lot of discriminations that actually come from taboos we made in the society .And if it is all about infertility of a female person, she has to go through mental traumas, not to mention about physical traumas going through medical procedures –from pill to even ,major surgeries .

On a very serious note, do we really know about male infertility, when a girl always has to face brutality   ?  After all, the term called male infertility is as accepted as daily stuffs. Even when a couple can’t conceive a baby, normally a female has to go for medical procedures and treatments afterwards without knowing that the infertility issue may arise from the male partner. Male infertility is not recognized in our society .We can’t even have that mutual respect and courage to ask for a male to check his fertility. As a consequence, girls are treated with inhumanity where she has to take medical procedures and face, to some extent, hazardous health consequences starting from gaining excessive weight to surgical break down of reproductive organs.

And infertility is a medical condition! There is nothing like inability of a human being. If we look at the scientific explanation on infertility, we can easily understand the reason behind male and female infertility. So, Infertility can result from problems in the man, the woman or both partners. In some couples, no cause of infertility can be found. In other couples, more than one cause exists.

Male infertility:

Due to low sperm counts, poor sperm quality, or both, male infertility occurs in more   than 90% of male infertility. The remaining cases of male infertility can be caused by a range of conditions including anatomical problems, hormonal imbalances, and genetic defects.

Most common Reasons for male infertility:

Sperm abnormalities are a critical factor in male infertility. These abnormalities include:

  1. Low sperm count
  2. Poor sperm motility (movement)
  3. Abnormal sperm shape

Female infertility: Normal aging reduces a woman’s ability to become pregnant. As a woman grows older, ovulation—the process of forming and releasing an egg—becomes slower and less effective.

Aging begins to reduce fertility as early as age 30. Pregnancy rates are very low after age 44. This is true even when fertility medications are used.

Most common Reasons for female infertility:

  1. Infrequent ovulation. When your periods do not come every month, you have infrequent ovulation.
  2. Hormonal abnormalities
  3. Scarring in the fallopian tubes. This can prevent pregnancy by stopping the egg from traveling into the uterus.

Last but not the least, infertility, In general, is defined as not being able to get pregnant (conceive) after one year (or longer) of unprotected sex. So, Infertility is one of the most common negative consequences of our reproductive health .Lets address infertility with solution rather than making it a stigma and letting women free to move on without disrupting their mental strength.
